Job Description

Grafton require a Senior Estates Officer for a vacancy in the Lisburn area

This role requires an immediate start

Hours of work: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £28,746 per annum

Duties to include;

  • Provision of architectural and associated services to assist the Estates Manager with the implementation of the Boards works programme of new building, refurbishment and maintenance throughout Northern Ireland
  • Responsible for Health & Safety aspects as set out in Company's Health & Safety Policy
  • The promotion and support of the principles and practices of all aspects of fairness at work in accordance with Company's Equal Opportunities Policy
  • To effectively manage the attendance of staff within the established procedures
  • Compiling lists of acceptable contractors and obtaining references where necessary
  • Ensuring quotations and tenders are in place (advertising tenders if required)
  • Carrying out approximate costs of work required
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with all other departments pre and post contract
  • Liaising with other departments eg, Union Representatives, Area and Group Commanders
  • Liaising with and adhering to Building Control and Planning Departments
  • Liaising with bodies such as DOE Roads and Water, Specialist materials providers, Gas companies and Architects
  • Familiar with relevant legislation, eg Disability Discrimination Act, and ensuring that both new and existing contracts comply with these
  • Drawing up Grounds Maintenance schedules on an annual/biannual cycle
  • Organisation of monthly site meetings and circulating minutes to all relevant parties, ie Contractors, Sub-contractors and departments
  • Progress reports and monitoring
  • Management of pest control, general redecoration/aesthetic maintenance

Essential Criteria;

  • HND in Building/Estate Management + 5 years relevant experience

OR

  • HNC in Building/Estate Management + 5 years relevant experience

AND

  • Proof of using Architectural Software Packages for a minimum of 2 years in a working environment producing detailed construction drawings
  • Experience of managing staff in an office environment
  • Project management experience up to or exceeding £300,000
  • Current driving licence

Desirable criteria;

  • A degree in a Building or Estate Management related discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy Estate Management office
  • Membership of BIAT, RSUA, RIBA, RICS or other construction related professional bodies
