Our Client

Grafton Construction has been retained by a NI based Main Contractor; this Main Contractor has had successive years of growth. Our Client has operations both in NI and Central London, the types of work our client carries out is varied. They are most prominent in fit out, Refurbishment and New Build.

As Site Manager

You will be responsible for and manage all activities on high end fit out projects. You will work autonomously using your fit out/construction knowledge to problem solve and make decisions on a daily basis. You will be the main on site contact for the Contracts Manager, Clients, Sub-contractors and other trades. You will also co-ordinate all aspects of the works so that the fit out project is completed safely in line with the clients requirements, within budget, on time and finished to an exceptionally high standard.

What you need

Substantial experience of the full life cycle of a number of high end fit out projects, involving the supervision of the project and the staff working on it. Qualified trades person with a proven track record for quality. Experience in the co-ordination and installation of services. Analytical skills to be able to understand and interpret complex technical specifications, drawings and documents and formulate plans from them. Written communication to be able to write reports and complete paperwork/administration. Numeracy skills, to enable scaling of drawings, checking measurements/angles and doing calculations. Verbal communication skills to enable effective communication all levels, and able to develop good relationships with clients/client representatives. Basic It Skills to enable flow of information between those involved in the project, particularly Microsoft Outlook. People management skills, to be able to instruct staff, deal with difficult staffing situations and maintain a productive, happy but disciplined working environment. To be good at planning ahead as far as possible as the project progresses, checking back to plans/programmes regularly. Ability to read and interpret drawings using AutoCAD, CSCS card (Management level). Knowledge of CDM regulations.
