Job Description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation require a Statistical Officer to start ASAP for an on-going period

Role: Statistical Officer

Pay rate: 0-12 week's £9.00 p/h

13+ week's £15.24 p/h

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37 hours per week

Essential Criteria

  • Candidates should have experience of Microsoft outlook, excel and word packages and prior experience of using statistical packages (e.g SPSS)
  • At least an upper second class honours degree (2:1) which has included training in statistics and /or social science research methods or
  • at least an upper second class honours degree [2.1] and a Royal Statistical Society award of at least Certificate level;
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills are essential.

Duties

The post-holders main tasks will involve:

  • Day to day management of the Research Support unit to include supervision of the researcher secure environment and responding to data and project related queries
  • Liaise with researchers to discuss feasibility of new research projects
  • Provide detailed advice on variables and data available
  • Create project specific data extracts for researchers
  • Clear and disseminate intermediate and final outputs
  • Create new databases, data dictionary and metadata for bi-annual release
  • Liaise with researchers to discuss feasibility of new research projects
  • Create project specific data extracts for researchers and assess for disclosure
