Stock Control Supervisor - £23,000 to £25,000 - Belfast

Grafton Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a leading FMCG organisation in their search for an experienced Stock Control Supervisor to be based at their site in Belfast on a permanent basis.

Role:

Reporting to the Stock & Logistics Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of all elements of stock control from factory to third party warehouses in a cost effective and efficient manner whilst achieving the required service level provision at all times.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising a small Team
  • Strong focus to ensure finished goods inventory are maintained at the optimum stock levels at the appropriate storage locations to fulfil Customer order requirements.
  • Build relationships with the key operational contacts within the service provider warehouses to ensure the smooth running of operations to achieve service level targets
  • Have commercial awareness of the impacts of resource control, utilisation of assets to achieve targets and adherence to budget through on going monthly cost tracking, analysis and reporting. Strong focus on protecting Company assets at all times
  • Assist in the compilation of Budgets and liaise on-going with the relevant Finance Department
  • Operate SAP and other systems in line with defined processes
  • Enhance KPI reporting, ensuring that agreed service levels are met, if not exceeded and provide reports in an accurate and timely manner as required
  • Analyse service level reports to identify improvement opportunities and initiatives
  • Meet and engage with customers and sales teams, where appropriate
  • Assist in developing, actively promote and deliver an ethos of continuous improvement within the department
  • Assist with compiling documented processes / procedures and rollout of same to the Department and ensure that expected standards are adhered to
  • Maintain professional and courteous levels of communication with customers by telephone, email and face-to-face
  • Provide support to the team and encourage staff development ensuring all direct reports are trained to a high standard of service provision
  • Take ownership of queries and complaints and follow though to resolution
  • Monitor and maintain an orderly workflow in accordance with department and company priorities
  • Fully investigate instances where service levels do not meet the required standards and implement appropriate agreed changes where necessary
  • Maintain good working relationships with other managers / staff and discuss potential improvements to service delivery
  • Assist in the department recruitment and appraisal processes
  • Ensure accurate records are kept of discussions and correspondence with customers / service providers
  • Assist in the compilation and development of departmental objectives and KPI's and report on progress/achievement
  • Identify, propose and implement areas of improvement through continuous review, change management and redesign of processes
  • Attendance at all relevant meetings, forums and appropriate courses
  • Ability to stand in for the Stock & Logistics Manager in all Stock Department functions to cover sickness / holidays

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years FMCG experience in a Supply Chain role
  • Experience of supervising / interacting with 3rd Party Logistics Providers
  • A Level or equivalent in Mathematics and English
  • SAP experience and highly proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Strong commercially focused approach
  • Strong basic analytical skills and financial understanding
  • Ability to analyse problems and determine corrective actions
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
