Job Description

Our Client, a Large Public Sector Organisation require a temporary Executive Officer Transcriber to start ASAP for duration of 6 months

Pay rate: £12.43

Location: Belfast

Hours: 28.5 per week which may increase subject to business needs

ESSENTIAL

Post holders must have:

GCSE passes at grades A, B or C in five subjects, which must include English language and mathematics, or a qualification considered to be of an equivalent standard.

OR

A recognised transcription qualification.

OR

Three years' experience in the provision of transcription-style services gained within the last six years.

AND

In addition to the above, be able to work quickly and accurately in written English, particularl ywith regard to spelling and punctuation, and have excellent keyboard skills that would allow the worker to transcribe five minutes of audio in 35 minutes or less.

  • The ability to work flexibly within a pressurised environment to meet business requirements.

Duties:

Post holders will work as part of a small team and they will be required to work to tight deadlines and to ensure that they produce an accurate verbatim report that conforms to an agreed house style. Working on a PC with a keyboard and foot pedal, and using recorded sound, transcribers should be able to accurately reproduce five minutes of audio in 35 minutes or less and may be expected to transcribe an average of 50 minutes of audio in a working day.

The standard working week is expected to be 09:30 to 17:30 Tuesday to Thursday and 09:30 to 14:00 on Friday (28.5 hours), although some late working may be required. Consideration will also be given to those who wish to work for less than the full working week.

It should be noted that the availability of work will depend on the amount of business to be covered, and hours may vary from week to week. It is expected that the requirement will last for up to six months, but this period may be extended if required.

Please note that successful candidate's will be required to complete a Basic Access NI at the cost of £26.
